藝術家履歷及作品簡介

HO, CAROL OI YAN  何藹恩

  • Lives and works in Hong Kong & London, UK

My work subverts conventional figurative painting by exploring how we internalize cultural symbols and aesthetic values.  Using a kitschy, cartoon style, I create unsettling portraits than borrow from pop subculture and art history.  In my recent series, "Modernism Stuck in My Head", this is made literal as figures are impaled by miniature modernist sculptures, creating a weird fantasy world that challenges both logic and traditional representations of identity.
