HO, CAROL OI YAN 何藹恩
現生活與工作於香港與英國倫敦
何藹恩的創作探討東亞流行文化語彙與現代主義形式在當代亞洲身份建構中的碰撞與交織——其筆下人物不再作為再現之對象,而是成為文化記憶、通俗美學(kitsch)與藝術史權威相互疊合的表面場域。
其持續進行之系列《Modernism Stuck in My Head》(2016年至今)將此種衝突具象化:人物形體或被破碎的現代主義雕塑刺穿,或為其蔓生覆蓋;臉部成為西方經典形式與東亞次文化圖像語彙交會之關鍵場域。畫面呈現出怪誕且富於想像的視覺語境,在承繼現代主義權威的同時,亦對其加以反思與辯證。
